Main Purpose:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, trustworthy, kind, and proactive person to provide support to individuals residing in FHSG’s accommodation units and dispersed properties. You will be working from various locations including our supported accommodation units, day centre and dispersed properties. The post holder should have a genuine interest in the health and wellbeing of homeless vulnerable adults.
The post holder needs to be flexible, and will be expected to become part of a well-established team. The post holder must display a professional and non-judgemental attitude at all times. Excellent communication is an essential element to this post to ensure a comprehensive service is delivered to all. Staff will be given the opportunity to partake in relevant training opportunities to enhance their personal and professional development.
· To be jointly responsible for the overall welfare of FHSG residents, involving dealing with a variety of needs.
· To be responsible for assisting residents to complete the essential paperwork/support plans and to ensure the paperwork is filed as necessary.
· To be responsible on a nightly basis for the delivery of quality service user support.
· Maintain the computerised system of resident files and update accordingly
· To work closely with the staff team in the referral of residents to appropriate follow-on accommodation and to monitor and record customer referrals.
· To work closely with the staff team in the referral of residents to specialised agencies to address their individual needs (health/finances etc.).
· Liaise with external agencies, when necessary, in order to provide the most appropriate support to each individual.
· Liaise and attend meetings with the staff team as necessary to aid development and encourage effective communication within the workplace
· To be responsible for recording daily/nightly events in the handover in accordance with FHSG’s procedures.
· To be responsible for opening/closing the accommodation unit and ensuring the alarm system is fully operational at the beginning and end of each shift in accordance with protocol.
· To be responsible for checking the buildings regarding health & safety issues and to log/report any issues to the management.
· Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills which are relevant to the workplace.
· To be responsible for cleaning duties as defined in the cleaning rota.
· The accommodation unit is staffed 24/7 and therefore sleepover duties are essential to the role.
· The post holder is ultimately responsible to the Manager of F.H.S.G. and regular supervision sessions will take place.
Please be advised that FHSG began as a Christmas Shelter and therefore it is an important time of year for us. We are covered 24-7 and Staff are expected to cover the Christmas period as and when required.

Up to 15 residents at any one time aged 18 – 70+
1 building comprising of 5 units of accommodation
1 building comprising of 4 units of accommodation
1 bed ground floor flat
2 bed house
3 bed house
All properties are within easy access and walking distance of each other.
This role involves lone working.
Specifications:
Experience of working in a supported accommodation environment.
Reliable, trustworthy and confident person able to work independently and as part of a team.
Good written English skills
Knowledge of conducting/writing support plans
Competent IT skills
Ability to work of own initiative
Enhanced DBS is required (paid for by employer)
Salary:
£13.22 per hour plus sleepover rate of £40.00 per night.
