We are looking for a skilled and reliable Motor Vehicle Mechanic to join our busy and friendly workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, servicing vehicles, and ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
Our workshop works on a diverse range of vehicles, including cars, light commercial vehicles, motorhomes, horseboxes, and HGVs, making this an excellent opportunity for a mechanic looking for varied and rewarding work.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 am – 5:30 pm (including a 1-hour lunch break)
- Saturday: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm, working 3 out of every 4 Saturdays
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on a wide range of vehicles.
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs.
- Perform MOT prep and repairs.
- Replace and repair vehicle components, including brakes, suspension, clutches, timing belts, and exhaust systems.
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Complete job cards and service records accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
- Deliver excellent customer service and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a motor vehicle mechanic or technician.
- Relevant automotive qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent preferred).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence
