Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Baby Room Practitioner to join our vibrant nursery team in our Nest baby room. In this role, you will be the primary caregiver and educator for babies and young children under 2 years of age, creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes their development and well-being. Your enthusiasm and leadership will inspire young minds, ensuring each child's individual needs are met with care and professionalism. Hourly pay is negotiable dependent on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care and supervision for babies and young children within the nursery, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Plan and implement engaging activities that support early childhood development, including sensory play, communication exercises, and social interaction opportunities.
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and confidence.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, daily routines, and any incidents or concerns.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver consistent care routines and developmental support tailored to each child's needs.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any relevant observations.
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance within the nursery.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with babies and children under 2 in a childcare or nursery setting.
- Strong team working skills to support a positive working environment.
- Knowledge of early childhood education, the EYFS and best practices for infant care.
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to plan engaging activities that promote developmental milestones for babies.
- Valid childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 2/ 3 in Childcare or equivalent
