Job description
We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Amazon FBA Shipping Coordinator to manage the day-to-day process of preparing and shipping inventory to Amazon fulfillment centers.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating FBA shipments in Amazon Seller Central, coordinating inventory preparation and labeling, arranging transportation, preparing shipping documentation, tracking shipments, and resolving shipment or receiving issues.
This is a hands-on role that requires strong attention to detail, good computer skills, and the ability to coordinate between our warehouse, suppliers, freight carriers, and Amazon.
Amazon's current Send to Amazon workflow involves confirming inventory, packing products, selecting shipping methods/carriers, printing box and pallet labels, and tracking shipments.
Our Company
We are on online retailer of footwear and apparel. This role is based in our offices at our main warehouse in Rochdale, 5 minutes from the town centre. The position is full time for 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9.00 to 17.00.
Key Responsibilities
Amazon FBA Shipments
- Create and manage FBA shipments through Amazon Seller Central.
- Prepare shipment plans and confirm inventory quantities.
- Enter and verify carton dimensions, weights, quantities, and shipment information.
- Assign inventory to the correct FBA shipment.
- Monitor shipments from the time they leave the warehouse until Amazon receives and checks in the inventory.
Shipping & Logistics
- Arrange shipments with parcel carriers, freight forwarders, and trucking companies.
- Obtain and compare shipping rates when appropriate.
- Schedule carrier collections and deliveries.
- Prepare shipping documents, packing lists, commercial invoices, bills of lading, and other required paperwork.
- Coordinate small-parcel, LTL, pallet, and freight shipments as required.
- Track shipments and maintain accurate records.
Warehouse Coordination
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure the correct products and quantities are picked and packed.
- Verify carton counts and shipment quantities before dispatch.
- Investigate discrepancies between planned and actual shipments.
Amazon Inventory & Receiving
- Monitor the Amazon Shipping Queue and FBA inventory.
- Follow up on delayed or missing shipments.
- Investigate Amazon receiving discrepancies, shortages, and damaged inventory.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, tracking numbers, costs, and delivery dates.
- Escalate unresolved Amazon issues when necessary.
Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Previous experience with shipping, logistics, warehouse operations, or e-commerce.
- Strong computer and data-entry skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work accurately with quantities, SKUs, carton dimensions, and shipment information.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet shipping deadlines.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Preferred:
- Previous experience with Amazon Seller Central.
- Previous experience creating Amazon FBA shipments.
- Experience with freight forwarders and parcel carriers.
- Knowledge of Amazon FBA prep, packaging, labeling, and shipping requirements.
- Experience working with inventory management or warehouse management systems.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who is extremely organized and detail-oriented.
You should be comfortable working with Amazon Seller Central, spreadsheets, shipping portals, carriers, and warehouse personnel. You should also be proactive about identifying problems before they result in an Amazon receiving discrepancy or delayed inventory.
