About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Painter & Decorator to join our team, carrying out high-quality repair and reinstatement work within the insurance repair industry.
You will work in customers’ homes and properties following incidents such as escape of water, fire, flooding and accidental damage. The role requires someone who takes pride in their workmanship and understands the importance of delivering a professional service while working sensitively in customers’ properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out painting and decorating works to a high standard following insurance-related property damage.
- Prepare surfaces, including filling, sanding, sealing and priming.
- Apply emulsion, gloss, masonry and other appropriate finishes.
- Match existing colours, textures and finishes wherever required.
- Complete repair and redecoration works efficiently and within agreed timescales.
- Work from job specifications and scopes of work.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
- Protect customers’ belongings and property while carrying out works.
- Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, contractors and claims teams.
- Identify additional damage or issues and report these appropriately.
- Complete work to company quality standards and health & safety requirements.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Painter & Decorator, preferably within property maintenance, restoration or insurance repairs.
- Excellent preparation and finishing skills.
- The ability to achieve a high-quality colour and finish match.
- A professional, courteous approach when working in customers’ homes.
- Good attention to detail and pride in your workmanship.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
- A flexible approach to travel and different types of repair work.
Desirable
- Experience working on insurance claims and reinstatement projects.
- Knowledge of fire, flood and water-damage restoration.
- Relevant trade qualifications.
- CSCS or other relevant site qualifications.
- Experience working to job management systems and digital reporting processes.
