The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the tanker safely, carrying out daily checks and ensuring fuel is delivered to the correct equipment while maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
Safely operate and drive a fuel tanker to and from various sites.
Deliver fuel to construction sites, quarries, depots and other customer locations.
Safely refuel a wide range of plant and machinery, including excavators, dump trucks, crushers, screeners, generators and other site equipment.
Ensure the correct fuel is dispensed into the correct machinery.
Carry out daily vehicle safety and defect checks and report any issues promptly.
Operate tanker equipment, pumps, hoses and associated fuelling systems safely.
Follow all site-specific health, safety and environmental procedures.
Ensure fuel is handled, transported and dispensed in accordance with relevant legislation and company procedures.
Maintain accurate records of fuel deliveries and usage.
Complete delivery paperwork and any required electronic records.
Communicate professionally with site managers, customers and colleagues.
Keep the tanker, equipment and working area clean and in good condition.
Report any fuel spills, leaks, incidents or hazards immediately.
Work safely around heavy plant and machinery and comply with site traffic management systems.
Carry out other reasonable duties associated with the role.
Valid Class 2 (C) HGV licence.
ADR qualification – particularly Class 3 (Flammable Liquids).
Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
Previous tanker or fuel delivery experience preferred.
Experience working on construction, quarry or similar industrial sites advantageous.
Good understanding of HGV and site safety procedures.
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
Good communication skills and a professional approach.
Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious.
Comfortable working outdoors and around heavy plant and machinery.
Willingness to follow company procedures and site rules at all times.
