Overview
We are seeking a skilled Suspended Ceiling Fitter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing suspended ceilings in various commercial projects in various locations, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. Duties
- Measure and mark ceiling layouts according to project specifications and schematics
- Install suspension systems, including grid frameworks and support structures
- Fit ceiling tiles or panels securely into the suspended framework
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and position materials accurately
- Collaborate with other trades such as electricians, plumbers, and plasterers to ensure seamless integration of services
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Inspect completed installations for quality assurance and compliance with building standards
- Assist in the removal of old ceiling materials when necessary
Skills
- Proven experience in construction-related roles, particularly with suspended ceilings or similar installations
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Knowledge of roofing, carpentry, masonry, plastering, and construction painting is advantageous
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with welding, electrical experience, plumbing, or roofing can be beneficial but not essential
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good physical fitness to handle lifting and working at heights safely
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively with other tradespeople
