Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Children’s Home Residential Care Worker to join our therapeutic team. This vital role involves providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people in residential care. The successful candidate will play a key part in promoting the well-being, development, and stability of the children, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and kindness. Responsibilities
- Offer daily care and support to children and young people, fostering their emotional and physical well-being
- Implement individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs and circumstances
- Support children with their daily routines, including personal hygiene, meals, education, and leisure activities
- Maintain a safe and secure environment by adhering to health and safety policies and procedures
- Engage in meaningful activities that promote development, confidence, and social skills
- Communicate effectively with children, colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure coordinated care
- Assist with behavioural management strategies in line with organisational policies
- Document observations, incidents, and progress accurately within case files and reports
- Drive children to appointments or activities when required, ensuring safe transportation
Experience
- One year minimum previous experience working with children in care
- Knowledge of child development principles and child protection procedures
- Ability to develop and follow care plans effectively
- Trauma informed approach
- Strong communication skills to build trusting relationships with children and team members
- IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Driving experience or possession of a valid driving essential and business insurance
Shifts- 08.00-16.00, 16.00-23.00, 08.00-23.00
This role requires a caring attitude combined with organisational skills to support vulnerable children effectively. The ideal candidate will demonstrate patience, resilience, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of young people in their care.
Pay: £24,420.00-£38,289.58 per year
