Senior Accountant / Client Manager
Role Details
- Location: Ipswich (office-based)
- Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday) or part-time (minimum 25 hours per week)
- Salary: Competitive, depending on experience and qualifications
- Start Date: As soon as possible
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing statutory accounts for a portfolio of small and medium-sized businesses including submissions to companies house and HMRC.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Preparing sole trader accounts and personal tax returns.
- Reconciling bank accounts and general ledgers.
- Supporting year-end accounting processes.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
- Providing day-to-day accounting advice and support to clients.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
- Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT, personal tax and corporation tax.
- Experience using cloud accounting software (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and FreeAgent).
- Experience in preparing accounts for small and medium-sized businesses.
- Experience in submitting accounts and returns to HMRC and Companies House.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Positive attitude with excellent communication and client service skills.
Desirable:
- AAT qualified or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
