Support Worker – Home Care
Nightingale Home Support | Forres & Elgin, Moray, Scotland Full-time, Permanent | £14 per hour, exclude mileage allowance
About Us
Nightingale Home Support provides compassionate, person-centred care to people in their own homes across Moray. We help our clients live independently and with dignity, and we're looking for a caring, reliable Support Worker to join our growing team covering the Forres and Elgin areas.
The Role
As a Support Worker, you'll visit clients in their own homes to provide practical and personal support that helps them live safely and comfortably. Every day is different, and no two clients' needs are exactly the same — but the goal is always the same: to make a genuine difference in someone's life.
Key responsibilities:
- Assisting with personal care, including washing, dressing, and continence care
- Supporting with medication prompts and administration in line with care plans
- Helping with meal preparation and mealtime support
- Providing light domestic support (cleaning, laundry, shopping)
- Supporting mobility and helping clients get around safely
- Offering companionship and emotional support
- Accurately recording care provided and reporting any changes in a client's condition
- Working closely with families, healthcare professionals, and the wider care team
About You
We're looking for someone warm, patient, and reliable, who takes real pride in helping others. Previous care experience is welcome but not essential — full training is provided for the right candidate.
You'll need:
- A genuine passion for helping people and making a positive difference
- Good communication skills and a caring, respectful manner
- A full, valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential for visiting clients across Forres, Elgin, and the surrounding rural areas)
- Willingness to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of starting, if not already registered
- Willingness to undergo a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) scheme check
- Flexibility to work some early mornings, evenings, and alternate weekends
What We Offer
- Full induction and paid training, including SVQ support
- Mileage allowance for travel between visits
- Guaranteed hours contract
- Ongoing professional development and career progression opportunities
- A supportive, friendly team culture
- Employee wellbeing support
