Experienced Mechanical Engineering Staff & Trainee operators (Precision Spring Manufacture)
What you’ll be doing
- Manufacture precision spring components to drawings, specifications, and tolerances
- Perform metal fabrication and metal welding where required
- Undertake hand forming for flat material and wire spring components
- Use and set up workshop equipment including mills, lathes, and tooling
- Carry out manual winding and work with manual forming processes
- Operate CNC wireform and coiling machines (as required)
- Inspect and measure components, maintaining quality and repeatability
What we’re looking for
- Proven workshop experience in metal fabrication and/or welding
- Hand forming experience with flat material and/or wire components (or strong equivalent skills)
- Comfort using workshop equipment such as mills and lathes
- Experience operating CNC equipment is desirable (especially wireform/coiling), or a strong ability to learn
- Ability to follow technical instructions and maintain high standards of workmanship and safety
Trainee Operator (Unqualified) — Full Training Provided
We also have opportunities for unqualified trainees. If you’re mechanically minded and want a long-term career in precision manufacturing, we will provide full training.
What you’ll learn
- How to form spring components from flat material and wire using hand forming techniques
- How to operate/assist with manual winding and workshop tooling processes
- Basic machine shop skills using mills, lathes, and tooling (training provided)
- Introduction to CNC wireform and coiling machines with progression to operation (where suitable)
- Inspection and measurement methods to meet quality standards

Pay: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
