Right at Home Wimbledon, Kingston & Putney is seeking a Dementia Support Worker to support one of our lovely clients living with dementia who sometimes experiences behaviours that challenge.
This role is ideal for someone with a warm presence, a gentle approach and confidence in supporting adults during moments of distress or confusion. Experience in dementia care and calm, effective de‑escalation techniques is essential.
About the Role & Our Client
You will support a vulnerable adult who needs reassurance, structure and compassionate companionship. They can become upset or confused at times, so we are looking for someone who brings patience, understanding and emotional resilience.
Your support will help her maintain independence, feel safe in her own home and enjoy her day-to-day routines. You will receive full backing from our experienced team, who are always there to guide and support you.
What You’ll Receive

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Creating a calm, encouraging environment
- Supporting your client through moments of distress using gentle, reassuring techniques
- Personal care, washing and dressing
- Medication support
- Meal preparation and hydration encouragement
- Light housekeeping and shopping
- Attending local appointments or outings together
Every shift will give you the opportunity to brighten someone’s day and make them feel supported and understood.
What We Need From You
- A full UK or EU/EEA driving licence (own car preferred)
- Experience with dementia and behaviours that challenge
- Training or strong understanding of de‑escalation approaches
- A caring heart, emotional steadiness and a positive, reliable attitude
