Job Title: Bar Staff
Location: The Mytchett Centre Social Club & Community Centre, Mytchett
The Mytchett Centre Social Club & Community Centre is looking for friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Bar Staff to help provide excellent service to our members, guests, and community groups. This is a great opportunity to work in a welcoming community-focused environment that hosts a variety of social events, functions, and activities throughout the year.
Key ResponsibilitiesBar Duties
- Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a professional and friendly manner.
- Operating the till and handling cash and card transactions accurately.
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards behind the bar and in customer areas.
- Restocking drinks, glassware, and bar supplies as required.
- Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
- Ensuring compliance with licensing laws and age-verification procedures.
- Setting up and clearing down the bar area before and after service.
- Providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Community Café Duties
- Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks, light refreshments and snacks.
- Assisting with basic food preparation and presentation.
- Keeping the café area clean, tidy, and fully stocked.
- Washing up and maintaining kitchen hygiene standards.
- Taking customer orders and processing payments.
- Supporting community groups and visitors using the café facilities.
- Assisting with the setup and tidying of community events and activities when required.
What We're Looking For
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- A friendly, approachable, and professional manner.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours.
- Previous bar or café experience is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
- Awareness of food hygiene and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and during community events as required.
