Orthodontic Therapist – Maternity Cover
About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and motivated Orthodontic Therapist to join our friendly and professional team on a maternity cover contract.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Orthodontic Therapist to work alongside our orthodontists and wider clinical team, providing high-quality patient care and helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles.
The maternity cover position will be for approximately 6 months, with the potential for the role to become permanent, subject to availability and practice requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Provide orthodontic treatment within your scope of practice and under appropriate prescription and supervision.
- Carry out routine orthodontic procedures, including fitting and adjusting fixed and removable appliances.
- Monitor patients' progress and provide appropriate clinical advice and treatment.
- Take clinical photographs, impressions/scans and other records as required.
- Educate and motivate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic appliance care.
- Provide clear, friendly and reassuring communication to patients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records.
- Work closely with orthodontists, dentists, nurses and the wider practice team.
- Follow all relevant clinical, infection-control and safeguarding procedures.
- Maintain professional development and keep knowledge and skills up to date.
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- GDC registered as an Orthodontic Therapist.
- Experienced in an orthodontic setting, or a newly qualified therapist looking to develop their skills.
- Confident, approachable and patient-focused.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- A strong communicator who can build rapport with patients of all ages.
- Reliable, professional and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Committed to providing an exceptional standard of clinical care.

Pay: From £27.50 per hour
