Bead Blaster
Gap Metal Ltd are a busy, family owned sheet metal & fabrication company based in Hailsham, East Sussex with over 40 years of experience in the industry.
We currently have a full-time, permanent vacancy for a Bead Blaster to join our existing team.
The Bead Blaster is responsible for the preparation and blasting of stainless steel assemblies to customer specifications using either our purpose built blast room, or our smaller blast cabinet.
The duties of this side of the role include;
- Prepare & mask parts as required.
- Blast to consistent finish.
- Visual inspection of bead blasted assemblies.
- Clean & maintain equipment.
- Housekeeping.
- Troubleshoot as needed.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
When the candidate is not bead blasting they will revert to a more general workshop role, where the tasks will include;
- Drilling, tapping, countersinking.
- Fettling, finishing, pickling.
- Hardware insertion.
- General workshop duties.
This role would ideally suit someone with blasting or general metalwork experience, although we would also consider someone with the right attitude and willingness to learn. Reliability and consistency is a must.
Whilst we have lifting apparatus, there is an element of manual handling so the candidate must be physically fit.
Monday to Friday 8am - 4.30pm with regular overtime as required.
Rate dependent on experience.
