Overview of the Role
Etio has been developing a suite of AI-powered products that sit at the heart of its service delivery ambitions. These tools are in late-stage development, shaped by close collaboration between the Director of Technology & Digital and senior technical leadership. The Software Engineer, AI Products takes this work forward, building out the application layer, driving products through to production, supporting them through early-stage adoption, and ensuring they are reliable, maintainable, well documented, and ready to scale. Deeper involvement in prompt design, agent workflows, and API-based model integration will build progressively as the person grows into the role.
Key Responsibilities
Your core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Take ownership of Etio's AI-powered product portfolio at the application layer, day to day accountable for interfaces, workflows, and integrations.
- Drive products from late-stage development through to production-grade status, ensuring reliability, testing coverage, and performance at scale.
- Own post-launch hypercare, monitoring performance, resolving issues, and supporting users through early adoption.
- Design and build integrations and automation workflows (including N8N) between AI applications and other business systems.
- Follow Etio's responsible AI guidelines, supporting governance activity including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
Expected Behaviours and Working Style
- Make every day count – you take ownership of your work and outcomes, managing your own backlog and following through on commitments without waiting to be directed.
- Lead the way – you bring strong engineering judgement and a genuine interest in AI, challenging the status quo where it adds value.
- Deliver with empathy – you communicate clearly, involve the right people, and build solutions that work for the people who use them.
Role Deliverables
- AI-powered products launched to production, stable, supported, and ready to scale.
- Post-launch hypercare completed, with a clear ongoing maintenance model in place.
- A documented, maintainable application codebase with clear design decisions recorded.
- Automation solutions delivered that reduce manual effort and drive measurable efficiency.
