The role
This is a 6 month fixed term contract role.
To be competent in the technical elements necessary to provide a comprehensive and compliant conveyancing service within a recoveries environment with a client and customer service focus.
Main responsibilities
- To verify legal titles to all freehold and leasehold properties and be able to identify title/property issues.
- Understand the conveyancing process from initial instruction to completion.
- Manage a workload effectively and ensure that files are run in an orderly manner with minimum administrative and accounting errors.
- Comply with all regulatory requirements such as money laundering and data protection at all times.
- Deal with difficult telephone conversations with any of the key stakeholders in the conveyancing process confidently and calmly and refer as appropriate.
- To be aware of associated areas of law impacting the Team’s delivery of its service
- To recognise any potential issues in cases and refer these appropriately
- To achieve and maintain an up to date task list
- Maintain accurate and timely case updates within internal case management systems.
Skills and qualifications
The role holder will need the following skills and experience
Desirable
- Legal qualification or working towards eg LLB/SQE
- Regulatory knowledge
- Familiar with conveyancing processes
Essential
- Minimum - English and Maths GCSEs,
- A high attention to detail and accuracy - Taking care and attention into all correspondence and documentation
- Previous legal experience in conveyancing or in a conveyancing environment.
- Self-confidence and ability to demonstrate initiative
- Ability to grasp things quickly and easily, and self-motivated
- Enthusiastic with a positive, can do attitude, friendly and helpful approach
