IT Support Engineer
£35,000 – £45,000 DOE
We’re looking for a capable, practical IT Support Engineer to join a growing technical team supporting a mix of on‑prem, cloud and customer environments. This is a hands‑on role for someone who’s just as comfortable in Microsoft 365 and Intune as they are fitting kit in a rack or drilling a hole when needed.
This is not a desk‑only role – you’ll be out on customer sites, solving problems properly and owning issues end‑to‑end.
What’s on offer
- £35,000 – £45,000 dependent on experience
- Company van
- Company bonus scheme
- On‑site gym, swimming pool & sauna
- 5% employer pension contribution
- 30 days annual leave, increasing after year 3 by 1 day per year up to 38 days
Must‑have requirements
- Full UK driving licence (manual)
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Happy working on customer sites as well as remotely and in the office
Technical must‑haves
You must be genuinely competent in the following (not just exposed to them):
- Microsoft 365 administration & configuration
- Users, groups, licensing, security, SharePoint/OneDrive basics
- Intune & Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Device enrolment, compliance policies, Conditional Access, Autopilot
- Windows 11
- Deployment, troubleshooting, configuration, updates
- Windows Server & core networking
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
- File services, NTFS/share permissions
- Practical / physical IT work
- Installing comms cabinets and basic rack work
- Mounting Starlink and access points
- Running and terminating cabling where required
- Comfortable using basic tools – drill, hammer, fixings, ladders
If you’re not safe and confident doing physical installs, this role won’t be a fit.
Desirable (nice to have)
- Experience in an MSP environment
- Hyper‑V or VMware exposure
- Backup solutions (Veeam, Altaro/Hornetsecurity, etc.)
- Networking knowledge beyond basics (VLANs, firewalls, Wi‑Fi)
- Microsoft Defender, security baselines, Cyber Essentials awareness
- PowerShell or scripting mindset (even at a basic level)
What we’re looking for
- Someone practical, logical and reliable
- Comfortable taking ownership of issues and seeing them through
- Able to explain technical issues to non‑technical users
- Not afraid to get stuck in and fix things properly
- Organised, tidy and professional when working on customer sites
Why join us?
You’ll be working in a proper technical environment, with modern tooling, real responsibility and no corporate nonsense. If you’re the sort of engineer who enjoys variety, problem‑solving and doing things properly, you’ll fit right in.
