Today the Roba group of companies has roots throughout the metal industry in Europe: foundries, master alloys, semi-manufactured products, metal recycling. The UK operation specialises in trading and processing non-ferrous scrap metal for foundries worldwide.
What we are looking for:
This opportunity is for a Class 2 HGV Driver to join our team in Smethwick. You will be driving an 8x4 hook-loader vehicle to transport RO-RO containers between sites.
Job Functions:
- Operate Class 2 HGV vehicle with hook-lift
- Undertake vehicle safety checks and perform basic maintenance, top-up fluids etc.
- Comply with relevant driving rules and regulations
- Report any undue delays to loading or tipping
- Ensure transfer notes and documents are correctly filled
- Keep the vehicle clean and in good working order
- Maintain a safe working environment by complying with site safety rules, guidelines and regulations
- Maintain an excellent work record by following instructions, standards and procedures
Skills / Qualifications:
- Category C licence with digital driver card
- Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
- Relevant experience of driving similar vehicles
- Experience of working in the waste industry with RO-RO containers preferred but not necessary
- Good communication skills to interact with suppliers, customers and co-workers
- Hard-working and flexible with good attention to detail

Working Hours:
06:30 – 16:00 Monday – Thursday
06:30 – 14:00 Friday
- 45.5 hour working week
- 30 minutes paid break per day
- Overtime will be expected at busy periods
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £15.00-£16.00 per hour
