We are seeking experienced Thermal Insulation Engineers for an upcoming industrial shutdown at the Certas Energy site in Grangemouth, Scotland.
The successful candidates will be responsible for installing, repairing and removing thermal insulation systems across industrial pipework, vessels and equipment.
Applicants must have previous industrial shutdown experience and be able to provide relevant, verifiable references.
This is a temporary contract expected to run for approximately 2.5 to 3 months, beginning on 10 August 2026 and continuing until November 2026.

Working pattern: Sunday to Friday
Responsibilities
- Install thermal insulation materials on industrial pipework, vessels, tanks and equipment.
- Measure, cut, shape and fit insulation materials according to project specifications.
- Remove and replace existing insulation systems where required.
- Install protective finishes and cladding where applicable.
- Read and follow technical drawings, specifications and work instructions.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets the required quality standards.
- Use relevant hand tools and power tools safely and correctly.
- Work alongside supervisors, scaffolders and other trades to meet shutdown deadlines.
- Follow site health and safety procedures, risk assessments and method statements.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area.
- Report hazards, defects or delays to site supervision.
- Complete assigned work efficiently and to a high standard.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working as a Thermal Insulation Engineer.
- Previous industrial shutdown experience.
- Valid TICA card.
- Good knowledge of industrial insulation materials and installation methods.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Competence in using relevant hand tools and power tools.
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements on industrial sites.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and good timekeeping.
- Availability to work for the full shutdown period.
- Verifiable references from previous industrial projects.
Pay: £26.12 per hour
