Medical Motorbike Courier (Part-Time)
We are looking for a reliable and professional individual to join our courier team as a part-time medical motorbike courier.
This role involves the safe and timely collection of medical specimens from clinics and healthcare providers across Manchester. The successful candidate will join our existing team of couriers and play an important role in ensuring that patient samples are transported safely and efficiently to support ongoing diagnostic services.
This is a flexible part-time position, with collections taking place during daytime hours, evenings, and weekends depending on clinic requirements. The role is ideal for someone who is organised, dependable, and enjoys working independently while being part of a wider healthcare support team.

Key ResponsibilitiesMedical Courier Duties
- Carry out scheduled medical specimen collections from clinics and healthcare providers across Manchester.
- Transport medical samples safely and securely to the appropriate laboratory locations.
- Complete courier collections using a company-provided motorcycle.
- Follow planned collection routes and ensure specimens are delivered within required timeframes.
- Handle sensitive medical specimens in accordance with healthcare and laboratory procedures.
- Maintain accurate collection records where required.
- Represent PathTech Laboratories professionally when attending clinics and healthcare facilities.
- Communicate effectively with clinics, laboratory staff, and the wider courier team.
Working Hours
- Part-time position, approximately 15 hours per week.
- Collection times will vary and may include:
- Daytime collections
- Evening collections
- Weekend collections (on a rota basis)
- A weekly rota will be issued in advance, based on:
- Your availability
- Clinic collection requirements
- Operational needs
- Flexibility is required, as collection times may vary from week to week.
Requirements
Essential:
- Full UK motorcycle licence.
- Clean driving record with no points on your licence.
- Ability to ride a motorcycle confidently and safely.
- Reliable, punctual, and well organised.
- Professional appearance and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage scheduled collections.
- Willingness to complete required healthcare checks.
Additional requirements:
- Successful completion of relevant security checks, including DBS clearance.
- Provision of two satisfactory references.
Previous experience in healthcare, medical courier work, or specimen transport would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
