Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Trainee Transport Clerk at Zelir Logistics Ltd, located in Ashford. The Trainee Transport Clerk will be responsible for booking and planning transport for our customers' shipments, obtaining rates from carriers and preparing quotes, and keeping shipments on track from collection to delivery. Full training will be provided, no prior experience is required. Some work from home is acceptable for this role.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Booking loads with hauliers and carriers across primarily road with some sea and air
- Planning and scheduling shipments to meet customer deadlines
- Requesting rates from carriers and preparing transport quotes
- Tracking shipments in transit and proactively updating customers
- Keeping internal systems up to date with shipment status
- Liaising with drivers, hauliers, and our customs team to keep goods moving
Office hours from 9am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday, with the possibility of slight hour changes required in exceptional circumstances.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to stay calm and prioritise when plans change at short notice
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in logistics, transport, or international trade is a plus
Pay: £24,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
