Longcliffe Quarries are looking for a HGV Technician to join our maintenance team at our Curzon Lodge site on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the company fleet, ensuring all vehicles are safe, compliant, and operating efficiently to support operations.
Main duties and responsibilities
To fulfill the requirements of this exciting new role, you will be able to demonstrate and have proven experience of;
· Maintenance and inspection of HGVs, trailers, and occasional repairs to light vehicles to DVSA standards.
· Prepare HGV’s, trailers and light vehicles for MOT and present for MOT testing.
· Conduct brake testing on company fleets and third-party vehicles.
· Assist drivers with ad hoc repairs and breakdown support.
· Record maintenance using workshop systems
· Manage tachograph data
· Book parts from our imprest stock stores and liaise with suppliers
· Perform basic fabrication and welding where required.
· Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
· Respond to callouts/breakdowns out of core working hours to ensure fleet remains operational 24 hours.
Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential
· Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
· Relevant City & Guilds or equivalent in HGV maintenance
· Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
· Basic IT skills
· Candidates must have their own tools
Desirable
· HGV Licence
· CPC qualification
· IRTEC Inspection Technician qualification

Working Hours
49 hours, two shifts between 06:00 and 18:00
Monday – Thursday 10hrs
Friday – 9 hours
