Additional: £28 Night-out fee + up to £23 Meal Allowance + Paid Parking (SNAP)
The Opportunity
R Wilkes is seeking a flexible and professional HGV Driver to join our nationwide general haulage team. This is a unique role offering variety; if you hold a Class 1 (C+E), you will have a daily uplift in pay and will rotate onto our Class 1 vehicles with a few other drivers. But the job is prodominantly for a Class 2 driver, this is a stable full-time position with the genuine opportunity to upskill.
We specialise in Moffett work and are prepared to invest in the right candidate by providing Moffett truck training or even licence upgrades where it suits the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving: Operating a Class 2 vehicles for nationwide delivery, including frequent work within the London/M25 area.
- Load Management: Responsible for loading, secure strapping of goods, and occasional "handball" work.
- Nights Out: Being away from home 1–2 nights typically, but up to 4 nights during busy weeks with backloads.
- Flexibility: Handling early starts and late finishes to meet delivery windows.
Requirements
- Licence: Full UK HGV Class 2 (C) entitlement.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years driving HGV vehicles.
- Insurance: Must be over 25 years of age with a maximum of 6 points (minor offences only).
- Moffett: A Moffett licence is a significant advantage, but not essential as training is available.
