Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and presentation. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in maintaining the restaurant’s reputation for outstanding cuisine and service.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs and kitchen staff, to ensure efficient operations
- Oversee food production, ensuring dishes meet quality standards and are prepared in a timely manner
- Develop and innovate menu offerings in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise profitability
- Train staff on food preparation techniques, presentation standards, and safety procedures
- Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to ensure smooth workflow and exceptional customer satisfaction
- Foster a positive team environment that encourages professional development and teamwork
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation relevant to the hospitality industry
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
- Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and food presentation
- Demonstrable leadership abilities with experience managing a diverse team of kitchen staff
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Previous experience in restaurant management or as a Head Chef is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Strong communication skills to liaise with front-of-house staff and suppliers effectively
- A passion for culinary excellence and innovation within the hospitality sector
Pay: £42,000.00 per year
