Due to Insurance requirements you must be over 18 years of age.
Responsibilities
- Assist with feeding, watering, and administering medication to animals in accordance with established protocols
- Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and common areas to promote a healthy environment
- Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress and report concerns promptly
- Support the handling and restraint of animals during routine care or veterinary procedures
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies, bedding, or animals safely
- Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and ensure compliance with facility policies
Experience
- Prior animal care background is not essential but is preferred
- Strong understanding of animal behaviour and handling techniques
- Positive attitude, good social skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing
- Previous experience working in a kennel, rescue, or veterinary setting is a plus
