Overview
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Shop Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, maintaining the shop environment, and supporting daily operations. The ideal candidate will be organised, personable, and capable of handling a variety of tasks to ensure a smooth shopping experience for our customers.
Duties
- Greeting customers warmly and assisting with their enquiries in a professional manner
- Operating tills and processing transactions accurately and efficiently
- Restocking shelves and ensuring products are well-presented and organised
- Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness within the shop, including janitorial duties as required
- Assisting with stock management, including receiving deliveries and organising stockroom areas
- Supporting customers with product information and guidance to enhance their shopping experience
- Driving company vehicles for local errands or stock deliveries when necessary
- Ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail or customer service roles is advantageous but not essential
- Valid driving licence is preferred for supporting delivery or stock movement tasks
- Experience in janitorial work or maintaining cleanliness within commercial environments is desirable
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly and approachable manner
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Organised with strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Flexibility to work during shop hours, including weekends if required
