Tearoom Assistant – Part Time

Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week across 2 days
Pay: Above the applicable National Minimum Wage rate, depending on age, plus a share of tips
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Tearoom Assistant to join our team at The Cosy Tearoom.
This is a front-of-house role in a busy tearoom, so we are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, can provide a high standard of customer service and is happy to get stuck in with all aspects of the day-to-day running of the tearoom.
The Role
Duties will include:
- Taking customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Providing friendly and welcoming customer service
- Serving food and drinks
- Preparing hot and cold drinks using our coffee machine
- Clearing, cleaning and resetting tables
- Washing pots when required
- Keeping the tearoom clean, tidy and organised
- Helping the rest of the team during busy periods
- Assisting with the general running of the tearoom
Previous café, hospitality or barista experience would be beneficial, although training will be provided.
Hours & Availability
The position is for approximately 10 hours per week, usually worked across 2 days.
Shifts will fall between approximately 10am and 4pm and will vary depending on the rota.
Applicants must be available to work both midweek and weekends. As regular weekday availability is required, this position is unlikely to be suitable for someone currently in full-time education.
Flexibility is important, as the working days will rotate and will not necessarily be the same each week.
Additional hours may also be available, particularly after training and as the role develops.
