Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of our bar and restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and extensive knowledge of food and beverage service. This role involves managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and creating a welcoming environment for guests. The successful applicant will have a background in restaurant or hotel experience, with skills in food preparation, cooking, and team management.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the bar team to deliver exceptional service and maintain high standards of hospitality.
- Oversee food and beverage preparation, ensuring quality and presentation meet company standards.
- Manage daily operations including stock control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health & safety legislation.
- Organise staff schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and monitor performance to foster a motivated team environment.
- Handle customer enquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Develop innovative drink menus and promotional offers to enhance customer experience.
- Train new staff members in service procedures, food safety practices, and product knowledge.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food production with bar service for seamless operation.
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a bar or restaurant environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary principles.
- Experience in serving customers in hospitality settings such as restaurants or hotels.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and food production processes.
- Previous experience working as a barista or in hospitality roles is advantageous.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure.
- Good communication skills with a friendly yet professional demeanour.
