Properteam Maintenance Limited – Edinburgh
Full-time | Permanent | £40,000 per annum
Properteam Maintenance Limited is looking for a qualified electrician to join our maintenance team in Edinburgh.
We manage the day-to-day maintenance of a large portfolio of residential properties for a well-established letting agent in central Edinburgh. This is a varied role covering reactive repairs, planned maintenance, electrical installations and inspection and testing across rental properties.
The Role
As a qualified electrician, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance, repairs, installations and testing across our managed properties.
A key part of the role will be completing Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), so applicants must hold the appropriate inspection and testing qualification and current competency required to undertake EICRs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out electrical repairs, fault finding and maintenance.
- Completing electrical installations and upgrades where required.
- Carrying out EICRs and associated inspection and testing to the required standard.
- Diagnosing electrical faults and carrying out remedial works.
- Completing electrical safety checks and certification.
- Responding to reactive maintenance jobs.
- Ensuring all work complies with current electrical regulations and relevant legislation.
- Liaising professionally with tenants, the letting agent, contractors and the Properteam office.
- Providing clear information and updates on jobs and any further work required.
- Maintaining accurate records and certificates for work completed.
- Identifying additional maintenance issues and reporting them appropriately.
- Working efficiently to meet agreed response and completion times.
About You
We are looking for an experienced, reliable and professional electrician who is confident working independently within domestic properties.
Essential requirements:
- Fully qualified electrician with a recognised electrical qualification.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Relevant Inspection & Testing qualification, such as City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent), with the competence and experience required to complete EICRs.
- Experience carrying out EICRs in domestic properties.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of current electrical regulations and safety requirements.
- Experience working in domestic properties or the property maintenance sector.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
Experience working within a letting, property management or social housing environment would be highly advantageous.
