Role Purpose
· To ensure all printed tickets are produced to the correct specification ensuring the instructions on the campaign brief are followed correctly.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare Lithographic Press by reading job instructions to understand all production requirements for the relevant Campaign
· Setting of Lithographic Press ensuring you have received the correct job bag and Running Numbers from Production Manager and that you are printing the job to the correct specification as indicated on the Job bag/campaign brief & proof
· Once Press is set up ensure that sign off is achieved from Studio before going into Production with the job
· Achieve production and quality standards by monitoring machine operations, detecting any malfunctions and deviations, adjusting controls where needed during the run
· On production of the job you will have continually checked that the print quality is up to the required standard and numbering is in sequential order so that will not impact on the enclosing machines and have reported any problems with stock supplied
· Ensure that the completed job is delivered to the enclosing departments in the timescale allowed and that the quality of work is to a high standard
· Adhere to all quality standard control check sheets and ensure completion of
· To always ensure good housekeeping within your given area.
Main Duties
· To have Qualification in lithographic printing on a Five Colour Press
· To have a full understanding of all the quality procedures related to ticket Printing
· To know and understand the entire operational requirements of the assigned machine
· To be fully aware of the required production dates and timings of each campaign
· If the machine is not running to optimum speed or optimum quality highlight the issue to the Production Manager
· To work towards achieving zero defects and proactively look for ways of reducing waste
· Highlight any changes that you think could be made to improve efficiencies within the department
· If there is anything stopping you from doing your job inform Production Manager immediately
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Qualifications
· 3 GCSE passes (Maths and English) or equivalent - Desirable
Professional Qualifications
Specialist Qualifications
· City & Guilds or NVQ in Print Finishing - Desirable
Member of a Professional Body
Required Experience
· Lithographic Print Experience on 5 Colour Printing Press. - Essential
· Guillotine Experience - Deirable
