Opening September
The Boathouse is a new riverside caffè, bar and trattoria opening on the River Arun in Amberley.
We’ll serve coffee and pastries in the morning, relaxed lunches, handmade pasta, wood-fired food and pizza, followed by Venetian-inspired cicchetti, wine and excellent-value spritz.
We’re looking for friendly, confident waiting staff to join us from the beginning.
This will be an informal, lively restaurant with no stiff service, scripted sales pitches or unnecessary fuss. We want people who can make customers feel genuinely welcome, understand when to be attentive and help create the kind of atmosphere that keeps people coming back.
The Role
You’ll be involved in all aspects of front-of-house service, including:
- Welcoming and looking after guests
- Taking food and drink orders
- Serving coffee, wine, spritz, cicchetti and full meals
- Learning and explaining the daily blackboard menu
- Setting up and closing the restaurant
- Keeping the dining room, terrace and bar looking their best
- Working closely with the kitchen and the rest of the team
About You
Previous hospitality experience is helpful, but attitude matters more.
You should be:
- Warm, friendly and comfortable talking to customers
- Reliable and punctual
- Calm and organised when it gets busy
- Happy working as part of a small team
- Interested in food, drink and hospitality
- Willing to get stuck in and help wherever needed
We’re looking for people with personality, common sense and a genuine desire to look after guests.
