We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and animal-loving person to join our team as a Part-Time Dog Daycare & Yard Assistant.
This is a varied, hands-on role, ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys working with animals and doesn't mind getting stuck in! The main focus will be caring for dogs in our daycare, alongside helping with general horse-yard duties.
The Role
Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Caring for and supervising dogs in daycare
- Providing dogs with exercise, enrichment and plenty of attention
- Feeding dogs and maintaining clean, safe play areas
- Cleaning and maintaining daycare facilities
- Helping with general horse-yard duties, including mucking out stables
- Filling hay and water and keeping the yard clean and tidy
- General animal care and handling
- Following animal welfare and health & safety procedures
- Helping with other day-to-day tasks around the daycare and yard as required
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
- A full, clean driving licence is essential
- A background in animal care is strongly desirable
- Confident and comfortable handling dogs
- Comfortable working around horses, or keen and willing to learn
- Hardworking and not afraid of physical work in all weathers!
- Calm, patient and caring with animals
- Great communication skills and the ability to chat to clients
- Able to work independently as well as part of a small team
- Responsible, observant and committed to good animal welfare
- Flexible and willing to get involved with a variety of tasks
Previous experience working with dogs, horses, kennels, daycare, stables, farms, veterinary practices or other animal-care environments would be highly advantageous.
