TidalSense is a respiratory technology company with a mission to transform the diagnosis, monitoring and management of chronic respiratory conditions, such as asthma and COPD. The company has ambitions to enable a population-scale change in respiratory care through global deployment of its technologies. TidalSense has launched the first-of-its-kind AI-driven (software medical device) diagnostic test for COPD which uses the company’s unique, patented, sensor technology embedded in the N-Tidal device.
We are seeking a People Operations Manager with strong process management and broad HR experience to help us scale our operations sustainably. You will be joining a passionate, socially-motivated and multi-disciplinary team covering engineers, scientists, clinicians, designers, product and usability specialists. Job purpose
To manage and deliver TidalSense's people functions. This role focuses on the hands-on process management and execution of recruitment, onboarding / offboarding, employee reward and benefits, learning and development and HR compliance, ensuring our team is supported efficiently as the company grows.
The role must balance structured process execution with a flexible, hands-on approach to balance compliance and efficiency with an ability to evolve with the changing needs of the business as it scales
Key duties & responsibilities
Recruitment Coordination & Onboarding (50%)

Coordinate bottom-up resource requirements planning by line managers, and top-down requirements from SMT, including scoping job descriptions

Oversee the end-to-end recruitment coordination within Workable, including posting roles, screening applicants, and scheduling interviews

Proactively source candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter and act as the main point of contact for external recruitment agencies

Coordinate onboarding processes and logistics (including IT setup, system access, and induction / training schedules) to ensure a smooth, welcoming experience for new hires
Retention & Talent Management Administration (40%)

Define and embed TidalSense's culture; work with leadership to articulate values and ways of working, then translate them into practical structures

Facilitate performance review cycles, and mid-year talent reviews

Conduct desk research and gather market data for regular salary benchmarking exercises to keep compensation competitive

Administer company benefit schemes in partnership with TidalSense’s Finance team

Maintain a pulse on team morale, facilitating company-wide engagement surveys and co-ordinating internal team events including offsites
Compliance & Employee Relations (10%)

Maintain precise, up-to-date employee records and personnel files within the HRIS, ensuring full compliance with UK employment law and TidalSense's Quality Management System requirements

Handle first-line employee relations (ER) queries and policy clarifications, escalating complex issues or formal grievances to senior leadership when necessary

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:

At least 3 years of relevant experience in a recruitment or HR function

Experience managing interview coordination, calendar management, and candidate communication

Hands-on experience of:

Running talent acquisition processes; or

Running onboarding & offboarding logistics; or
-
Managing HR processes

Proven ability to be accountable, operate autonomously and handle day-to-day execution without extensive corporate support infrastructure

Experience in a startup or scale-up environment
Desirable:

CIPD level 3 or above

Experience in talent acquisition or recruitment specialist roles

Familiarity with the Cambridge or medical / AI / tech ecosystems

Salary £50,000-60,000 (depending on experience)
TidalSense operates a fair pay structure to ensure our colleagues are paid equitably and competitively for their skill, expertise and experience. Successful candidates will be offered this role at the appropriate grade, based on both their resume experience and our judgement of their performance level through the assessment process. We are open to interviewing more junior candidates as well as those who have more industry experience in role.
