THE ROLE
You will be responsible for product compliance, advising Product, Technical, and Marketing teams on legislative updates, and advising on and leading sustainability initiatives to support the company’s environmental goals.
Based at the company’s Head Office in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Monitor UK and International legislative changes, assess business impact and advise internal stakeholders
- Prepare, collate and submit technical data and declarations of conformity to regulatory bodies, where required
- Liaise with notified bodies, competent authorities and regulatory consultants as needed
- Attend relevant conferences and webinars
- Review labels and packaging to ensure compliance
- Keep abreast of EU regulations and updates, reporting back internally to relevant teams
- Review greenwashing regulations
- Developing and updating CSR policies and procedures to ensure ethical and sustainable practice
- Keeping abreast of relevant legislation, best practices, and emerging trends in CSR and sustainability.
- Tracking the progress and impact of CSR initiatives and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Producing a sustainability report alongside the Director of Marketing and Communications
- Set out long-term sustainability goals alongside the wider team
- Build a sustainability team internally with passionate people from each department to support
- Demonstrable results against sustainability targets
- Develop and maintain sustainability-related policies, processes and procedures
- Support the communication of sustainability updates, engagement activity, including drafting emails, report alerts and content for company websites and press releases alongside the marketing team
- Oversee greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions tracking and reporting, helping quantify and monitor emissions
- Drive decarbonisation initiatives and ensure the business is on track with emissions reduction commitments to reach Net Zero targets.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:
- Demonstrate substantial regulatory experience.
- Demonstrate experience or environmental qualifications alongside a passion for sustainability
- Be a people person and confident communicating with consumers and customers.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to put a hand to any tasks to support the department/wider business.
- Have an ability to work cross-functionally across relevant teams.
- Be a team player, proactive, positive, enthusiastic and demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Have strong attention to detail.
- Be confident in reporting on legislation changes.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least one years’ experience in a relevant role.
- Someone who is passionate and wants to hit the ground running
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A willingness to learn and support the wider business with development and regulatory requirements.
