Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Golf Shop Manager to oversee daily operations at our prestigious golf course. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage retail and sales activities within a vibrant sporting environment, ensuring the smooth running of the golf shop while fostering a welcoming atmosphere for members and visitors alike. The position is suitable for individuals with previous management experience in retail or sports facilities.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the golf shop team, ensuring high standards of customer service and operational efficiency
- Manage daily retail operations, including stock control, merchandising, and visual presentation of products
- Oversee sales transactions, upselling, and promotional activities to maximise revenue
- Deliver high standards of support in golf operations, including setting up club competitions and managing booking systems
- Organise staff rotas, delegate tasks effectively, and monitor team performance to ensure excellent service delivery
- Maintain accurate administrative records, including sales reports, inventory logs, and staff schedules
- Maintain visitor bookings, taking green fees and capturing the data of visiting parties for marketing purposes.
- Handle customer enquiries both in person and via telephone with professionalism and courtesy
- Coordinate with suppliers for stock replenishment and manage procurement processes
- Implement marketing strategies to promote the golf shop offerings and upcoming events
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the retail environment
- To undertake assistance in other areas of the Club on a temporary basis if required by the Club Manager
Requirements
- Proven management experience within retail or sports facility environments, preferably in golf or leisure sectors
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a diverse team
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively
- Outstanding communication skills, including phone etiquette and interpersonal rapport-building
- Experience in merchandising, sales management, and administrative duties
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Demonstrated organisational skills with proficiency in managing stock levels and staff schedules
- Previous supervisory experience is essential for success in this role

Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
