Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our authentic Italian restaurant team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about culinary arts and eager to develop their skills within a vibrant dining environment. The Kitchen Assistant will support the kitchen team in meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace. Previous experience in catering or restaurant settings is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in a professional culinary setting and is paid accordingly.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and organising ingredients for service
- Support chefs with meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations
- Help with cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces regularly
- Organise stock and supplies to ensure ingredients are readily available for cooking
- Serve food to customers when required, ensuring excellent customer service standards are met
- Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment at all times
Experience
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not mandatory
- Familiarity with meal preparation, food safety practices, and kitchen equipment is advantageous
- Experience in serving customers or working in a fast-paced culinary setting is beneficial
- A keen interest in Italian cuisine and culinary arts is preferred
- Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a dynamic team
