We are currently recruiting for an LGV Driver to join our team at our 30-acre Main Sales Yard at Golden Hill Lane, Leyland.
Duties include:
- Delivery of timber and building materials
- Provide excellent customer service
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Assembling orders
- Checking orders are loaded and booked out correctly
- Operating plant and machinery
- Working to deadlines
- Daily vehicle checks
- DVSA tachograph driver hours compliance
- Maintaining general cleanliness of work area and vehicle
Required Skills / Experience:
- Minimum Class C license (Class 2)
- Strong customer service approach
- Team player
- Great communication skills
- Articulate and numerate
- Able to lift reasonably heavy items
- Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC)
- Digital Tachograph Driver Card
Preferred Skills:
Experience of working in a builders’ merchant yard**
- Fork truck license
- Northwest road network
- HIAB or similar

Drivers hours are as below, on occasions the position may call for work outside of these hours and will be paid hours.
Week 1
Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 17:00
Friday 07:30 – 16:00
Saturday 07:00 – 11:00
Week 2
Monday 08:00 – 17:00
Tuesday - Thursday 07:30 - 17:00
Friday 07:00 – 16:00
Saturday 08:00 – 12:00
The position would be a 48 hour contracted working week which includes 4 hours every Saturday morning. Having said that, we do allow a small number of Saturday mornings off as unpaid, providing booked in advance and any further Saturday mornings off can be requested as half days holiday.
