Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Cleaner to join our team at Creative Heart. We are a not for profit Community Hub & cafe in the heart of Littlehampton, creating a safe space for all ages & abilities.
We are seeking someone who can maintain high standards of cleanliness across our premises. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring environments are hygienic, safe, and welcoming.
This role offers an opportunity to work in a professional setting, contributing to the overall appearance and hygiene of our cafe and hub. Previous experience in commercial cleaning is advantageous but not essential.
Working Hours: 2.5 hours per day, Tuesday to Saturday. Hours to be worked either after closing at 4pm or in the morning prior to opening at 9.30am.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of commercial spaces, including kitchen, washrooms, and communal areas
- Dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing surfaces to maintain cleanliness standards
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste responsibly
- Restocking supplies such as toilet paper, hand towels, and cleaning products as required
- Use appropriate cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards identified during cleaning duties
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment
- Maintain organised storage of cleaning supplies and equipment
Experience
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high standards of cleanliness
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good organisational skills and reliability are essential for success in this role
