Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and preparation, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional dining experiences.
Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and managing food production.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Help develop new menu items and contribute creative ideas for seasonal offerings.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage food costs effectively.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably as a Sous Chef or similar position within a hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate kitchen staff effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary trends, and food safety practices.
- Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- A passion for cooking and creating innovative dishes that delight guests.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not essential.
- Proven experience in prep work and use of fresh ingredients.
