We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Animal Management Technician Instructor to join our Animal Management team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with practical animal care experience who enjoys supporting learners in a dynamic educational environment.
Working within our Animal Management Unit, you will play a key role in the care and welfare of a wide range of species, supporting students to develop their practical skills while ensuring the highest standards of animal husbandry, health and safety, and customer service. You will also contribute to the ongoing development of the animal facilities, promotional activities, and the delivery of an outstanding learning experience.
Actual Salary: £21,346.46 - £22,412.51 per annum
Working Pattern: Friday 8.30am - 4pm Saturday, Sunday, Monday 8:30am - 5pm
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and support students undertaking practical activities within the Animal Management Unit.

Deliver high standards of animal husbandry, including feeding, health checks, enrichment, accommodation maintenance and welfare monitoring.

Assist in the development and improvement of the Animal Management Unit, including projects to enhance facilities and animal accommodation.

Maintain accurate animal, stock, health and safety records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and College procedures.

Order supplies, manage stock levels and support the day-to-day operation of the unit.

Support marketing, recruitment and promotional events including Open Days, school visits and community engagement activities.

Assist with student progress, behaviour management and safeguarding responsibilities.

Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to support high-quality teaching, learning and student outcomes.
Essential Criteria

Minimum Level 3 qualification in Animal Management.

Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
-
Experience working within an Animal Management environment.

Excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students and stakeholders.
