The Role
Working in a small team, you'll manage payroll across a diverse portfolio of clients, taking ownership of the full payroll process and building strong, long-term client relationships, whilst identifying potential process improvements.
Payroll & Compliance:
- Managing weekly, monthly and annual payrolls for a diverse portfolio of clients
- Processing auto-enrolment workplace pensions, payrolled benefits and P11Ds
- Completing Real Time Information (RTI) submissions and BACS payments
- Keeping up to date with changes to payroll legislation and ensuring these are correctly applied
Client Management:
- Building strong, long-term relationships with clients
- Handling payroll queries and resolving issues promptly and professionally
- Providing accurate payroll reports and information to clients
Systems & Improvements:
- Ensuring client information is accurate, complete and kept up to date
- Working across multiple payroll systems including Sage 50, QuickBooks and Xero
- Supporting the wider payroll team and contributing to process improvements
The Candidate
We’re interested in speaking with experienced payroll professionals who are looking to develop their career within a progressive and collaborative practice environment.
You’ll ideally have experience working within a
payroll bureau or accountancy practice, with the ability to manage multiple client payrolls and confidently deal with a variety of payroll queries and requirements.
You’ll be technically strong, highly organised and comfortable taking ownership of your workload, whilst also being confident enough to build relationships with clients and act as a trusted point of contact.
Key Skills:
- Previous payroll bureau experience, ideally within an accountancy practice
- Strong technical knowledge of UK payroll processes and legislation
- Experience managing payrolls for multiple clients
- Experience with Sage 50 Payroll, QuickBooks, Xero or similar payroll/accounting systems
- Knowledge of auto-enrolment pensions, RTI and BACS submissions
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proactive approach with the ability to work independently
