Safeguarding Case Manager
£37,595 per annum | Bath | Hybrid (minimum 3 days in the office)

The way we support our most vulnerable customers is changing. We’re building a small, specialist team that will own safeguarding cases from the point they’re allocated, through risk assessment, intervention and multi-agency working, through to closure. You’ll pick up cases where an ongoing safeguarding concern has been identified — and take responsibility for getting the right outcome for the person involved.
You’ll be one of two Safeguarding Case Managers, reporting to our new Safeguarding Manager. Each role will cover its own geographical patch, helping you build strong local relationships with colleagues and partner agencies and provide consistent support to the people in your area.
What you’ll be doing
Managing an active caseload - currently between 60 and 80 cases across the two roles, expected to settle at around 40 each once the new operating model is in place - covering adults and children at risk from the point of allocation through to closure, including risk assessments, safety plans and both practical and emotional support
Supporting people through challenges such as financial abuse, mental health concerns, substance misuse and hoarding
Working closely with our Compliance team, who triage referrals and retain some cases - particularly those involving police, such as cuckooing and domestic abuse - so collaboration and joint working will be a daily part of the role
Representing Curo at Multi-Agency Liaison Meetings and other partnership forums, sometimes alongside a colleague from another team
Building strong relationships with local authority safeguarding teams across Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire - and confidently challenging decisions where needed
Working alongside housing officers, support workers and wider teams who know the people and the neighbourhoods on your patch
Maintaining accurate and professional case records in line with safeguarding and data protection requirements
Promoting early intervention and tenancy sustainment to reduce risk and prevent crisis situations
Helping us design and embed the workflows, decision points and quality standards for a brand-new team

More about you
You bring real, hands-on experience of managing safeguarding cases - taking ownership of cases and seeing them through to a resolution that protects the person involved.
Strong working knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policy and best practice for both adults and children
Confident with risk assessments, safety planning and supporting people with complex or multiple needs
Good understanding of different types of abuse, their impact, and the relevant civil and criminal remedies
Strong written and verbal communication, with the confidence to advocate for the people you support and challenge decisions constructively
Resilient and self-aware, knowing when to escalate and how to use the support around you
Comfortable with change and able to contribute to how a new team takes shape.
This role requires an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which we’ll arrange for you when you start.
