We’re now looking for a friendly, organised Fostering Administrator to join our team on a maternity cover contract — with the potential to become a permanent position
The Role
This is a busy and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You’ll be at the heart of the fostering service, working closely with the Registered Manager and supporting our managers and social workers to ensure an effective and efficient service that meets fostering regulations.
Some of what you’ll be doing includes:
- Acting as the first point of contact for telephone calls and enquiries, liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Organising fostering panel meetings – including booking dates, preparing paperwork, and making all necessary arrangements.
- Booking and arranging events and training for foster carers and staff, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
- Taking accurate minutes at meetings, including fostering panels and team discussions.
- Organising fostering panel meetings, making sure all paperwork is accurate, compliant, and ready on time.
- Collecting and managing data to support audits, inspections, and reporting requirements.
- Supporting managers and social workers by handling queries effectively and confidentially.
- As part of the assessment process for prospective foster carers:
- Undertaking statutory checks,
- Tracking assessment progress,
- Booking required training
- Maintaining up-to-date databases, records, and spreadsheets to ensure compliance with fostering standards.
- Preparing letters, reports, and documents to a high standard.
- Handling sensitive and confidential information in line with safeguarding and data protection policies.
About You
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Have experience within an administrative role (fostering or social care experience would be a big advantage).
- Are confident using IT systems, especially Excel and spreadsheets.
- Have strong communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Can take clear and accurate minutes. (REQUIRED)
- Are highly organised, with the ability to manage numerous tasks and deadlines.
- Are a team player, but also able to work independently.
- Have a willingness to learn and are happy to undertake professional training where necessary.
- Understand (or are keen to learn about) compliance in fostering and the importance of accurate records.
- Care about making a difference for children and families.
