Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant (Nights) to join our team. This role is vital in providing high-quality care and support to residents in a care home setting during night shifts. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring residents' comfort, safety, and well-being throughout the night hours.
Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health and well-being, reporting any concerns to senior staff
- Support residents with their individual care plans, ensuring all needs are met effectively
- Administer medication as per prescribed instructions and company policies
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and any incidents during the shift
- Respond promptly to call bells and emergency situations with professionalism and urgency
- Support residents in maintaining their dignity and independence during night hours
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth handover at the end of each shift
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for supporting residents’ outings or appointments
- Good understanding of care plans and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Basic IT skills for updating records and documentation efficiently
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate compassionately with residents and colleagues
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of care
- Flexibility to work night shifts on a regular basis, including weekends if required

Pay: £24,420.00-£34,761.48 per year
