Lead initiatives that improve productivity, operational efficiency, and manufacturing performance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify inefficiencies and areas for process enhancement.
- Develop detailed schematics and technical drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CAD software to support process modifications.
- Design and implement improvements in plastics injection moulding, assembly, welding, and fabrication processes.
- Programme and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimise automation systems.
- Create and interpret schematics related to mechanical systems, tooling, and automation equipment.
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure precision in manufacturing components and assemblies.
- Lead continuous improvement projects by analysing current workflows and proposing innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new tooling or modify existing tooling for enhanced production efficiency.
- Support the realisation of process modifications through fabrication activities and assembly procedures.
- Ensure all modifications comply with safety standards and industry regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience in process engineering or industrial improvement roles within manufacturing environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in fabrication, welding, tooling, and assembly processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programmes for designing schematics and technical drawings.
- Experience with plastics injection moulding processes is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) programming and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of GD&T standards, schematics interpretation, and mechanical design principles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and data-driven decision making.

Pay: £78,000.00 per year
