To provide high-quality, consistent therapeutic care and emotional support to children and young people with complex trauma, attachment difficulties, and emotional and behavioural needs within solo residential placements. You will play a key role in creating a safe, stable, and nurturing environment that promotes healing, resilience, personal growth, and positive outcomes.
Working within a trauma-informed framework, you will support young people using the principles of PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy) and Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP), helping them build trusting relationships, develop emotional regulation skills, and achieve their full potential.
Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesDirect Care and Therapeutic Support
- Develop and maintain meaningful, trusting relationships with young people, built on safety, compassion, consistency, and respect.
- Provide high-quality day-to-day care, including support with routines, education, appointments, activities, life skills, and emotional wellbeing.
- Deliver therapeutic parenting approaches in line with trauma-informed practice, PACE, and DDP principles.
- Remain attuned to the emotional and behavioural needs of young people, responding with empathy, curiosity, patience, and understanding.
- Promote emotional regulation and resilience through positive role modelling, co-regulation, and consistent therapeutic support.
- Act as a nurturing and reliable adult, providing the stability and security needed to support recovery from trauma.
- Encourage and empower young people to make positive choices, build independence, and achieve their individual goals.
- Support young people to engage in education, training, social activities, and community participation.
- Work collaboratively with families, social workers, education professionals, therapists, and other stakeholders to ensure positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, professional, and timely records, reports, and documentation in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times.
- Participate in the organisation's on-call rota and provide support when required.
Pay: £27,726.00-£29,120.00 per year
