Join Our Team at Lynton Community Care
Lynton Community Care is looking for a motivated, compassionate and organised Advanced Support Worker to work across our two Supported Living services in Ystrad Mynach and Tiryberth.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced support worker who is looking to develop their leadership skills whilst continuing to provide hands-on support to the people we support. Working alongside Service Managers, you will play a key role in ensuring the services operate safely, effectively and in line with regulatory requirements, while maintaining excellent person-centred care.
No two days are the same. One day you may be supporting someone to access their local community or achieve their personal goals, and the next you could be completing audits, supervising staff or helping to improve service quality.
What You'll Be Doing
As an Advanced Support Worker, you will divide your time between providing direct support and assisting the Service Managers with the day-to-day running of both services.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism and additional support needs.
- Supporting individuals to achieve their personal goals, develop independence and participate in their local community.
- Leading by example and promoting positive working practices across both services.
- Completing care plan, Behaviour Observation Chart (BOC), medication and finance audits.
- Digitising records to ensure accurate and compliant documentation.
- Carrying out health and safety checks, fire safety audits and evacuation documentation.
- Conducting staff supervisions and observational spot checks.
- Supporting staff development through training analysis and coaching.
- Assisting with payroll preparation and rota management.
- Monitoring maintenance issues and ensuring they are reported and followed through.
- Reviewing individual goals and supporting outcome-focused care planning.
- Participating in service user reviews and maintaining positive communication with families and professionals.
- Supporting managers with regulatory compliance and continuous service improvement.
- Maintaining accurate electronic records using our digital care systems.
- Acting as a positive role model for the wider team.
- On call support
