About the Role
Menwinnion Country House is a 40‑bed residential care home in Lamorna, providing compassionate, person‑centred care around the clock. We are looking for a dedicated Waking Night Care Assistant to support our residents overnight, ensuring their safety, comfort, and wellbeing throughout the night. You will be a calm, reassuring presence who helps residents feel secure while maintaining high standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor residents throughout the night, ensuring their safety and comfort
- Respond promptly to call bells, requests for assistance, or emergencies
- Follow individual care plans to meet each resident’s specific needs
- Support residents with toileting, repositioning, hydration, and night‑time routines
- Maintain accurate electronic records of observations, checks, and any incidents
- Carry out regular environmental checks to uphold safety and infection‑control standards
- Communicate clearly with day staff to ensure smooth handovers
Requirements
- Previous care experience is helpful but not essential – full training provided
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient approach
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and work independently during night shifts
- Basic IT skills for electronic care recording
- Reliable, compassionate, and committed to high‑quality care
- Understanding of health and safety and safeguarding in a care‑home setting
