Overview
We are seeking skilled and dedicated Butchers to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food production and a strong understanding of meat preparation and safety standards. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cut meat products according to specified recipes and quality standards
- Ensure all meat is handled, stored, and prepared in compliance with food safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the butchery area and equipment
- Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of prepared products for service
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to prevent cross-contamination and accidents
- Provide excellent customer service when engaging with clients or retail customers (if applicable)
Experience
- Previous experience in food production, culinary arts, or butchery is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices within a professional kitchen or butcher’s shop
- Experience working in a restaurant or similar food service environment is advantageous
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques, including meat cutting, deboning, and portioning
- Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Kitchen experience that demonstrates organisational skills and adherence to safety protocols
